PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Its specific coating, the result of research work and innovative technologies, lets in natural light while reflecting 62% of the associated heat. With PLANISTAR® SUN, it makes it finally possible to enjoy your home and your outside view, without systematically closing the blinds and/or shutters.
In addition to solar control, PLANISTAR® SUN also provides reinforced thermal insulation (Ug 1.0 W/m²K) that limits heat loss to the outside during cold periods.
Combining thermal insulation with solar control significantly improves the energy efficiency of buildings, minimizing both heating and cooling needs. PLANISTAR® SUN contributes to maintaining adequate temperature and energy consumption in all seasons.
BENEFITS & APPLICATIONS
Due to its characteristics, PLANISTAR® SUN is the ideal solution for double and triple-glazed windows with large glazed surfaces (window bays, sliding doors, viewpoints), in south and west building orientations, in high-end residential buildings and in non-residential buildings (schools, hospitals, hotels, etc.).
They help to improve insulation in cold seasons and manage solar control in sunny seasons, leading to energy savings on heating and cooling and thermal comfort of occupants.
New house example in Sevilla (Spain) with reversible heat-pump: installing double glazed windows with PLANISTAR® SUN instead of standard low-e allows to decrease the electricity consumption for heating and cooling by one third while limiting the air-conditioning nuisances by almost 40%*.

PLANISTAR® SUN is also available in some European countries on ORAÉ® low-carbon glass, to combine performance and sustainability and provide the best of both embodied and operational carbon levels.
This product is covered by a verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and is cradle to cradle bronze certified.
APPEARANCE
The low exterior light reflection (RL 14%) and its neutral aesthetics make PLANISTAR® SUN a highly transparent product that fits with the aesthetic requirements of architectural design.

PLANISTAR® SUN is also available on demand in more tailor-made size (split length), thicknesses, on laminated glass, and on extra-clear DIAMANT® glass or for production or design optimization.
PROCESSING
PLANISTAR® SUN can be processed as a standard low-e coating. For more technical information, please refer to PLANISTAR® SUN processing guidelines documents.
PLANISTAR® SUN exists in laminated version to offer safety (STADIP® PROTECT) or sound insulation (STADIP® SILENCE), It can be also combined with easy maintenance and design functions.
- ANNEALED: The product is available in Annealed version.
- HEAT-TREATMENT: The product is not available in To-be-tempered version (with suffix II). Ask your local contact for equivalent product
- INSULATED GLAZING UNIT: The product must be assembled into an insulated glazing unit (IGU); The coating must be positioned inside the IGU.
- LAMINATION: The product can be laminated, taking care to place the coating outside of the laminate (coating on face 4 of the laminated pane).
- ENAMELING: No common approval for the enameling of silver-based high-performance coatings.
