Experience Aesthetics

BECAUSE THE BEAUTY OF GLASS IS OUR PRIORITY

Selecting the appropriate glass for the façade of an architectural project could be a challenging decision. Several criteria need to be considered, among which the aesthetics is a key one! At Saint-Gobain Glass we strongly believe in the beauty of coated glass, and we focus our R&D programs in this direction.

Visualizing the final appearance of the glass on a future building facade is an exciting part of the process.
It's essential to examine samples under the right conditions to ensure that they accurately reflect the appearance of the glass once installed.

To help you find the best product and make the right aesthetical choices for your project, we have several tools at your disposal:

  • From standard samples, bespoke samples, to mockups, we can deliver our products to your site quickly and efficiently.
  • The Aesthetic Theater helps to effectively evaluate glass samples; it offers different backgrounds and lets you compare 2 samples side by side. Easy to assemble and transport (discover more below).
  • GlassPro, our physico-realistic rendering of the glass aesthetics could help you decide and reduce the amount of samples, saving some cost and CO2 footprint.
  • Calumen® Gallery provides an overview of projects already completed around the world using Saint-Gobain Glass products. You can filter by country, product, or application, among others.
  • Calumen® online glazing configurator allows you to compare not only performances, but also glass aesthetic of 3 glazings at the same time and help you understand the differences between several build ups.

REVEAL ALL THE FACETS OF OUR COATINGS WITH THE AESTHETIC THEATER

Although samples are available for inspection, it's crucial to view them under appropriate environmental conditions. Otherwise, the sample may not accurately reflect the final appearance of the glass in its installed setting.

Coatings play an important role in the final aesthetics of glazing, not only its tint but also its level of reflection. Depending on where it's placed, how you look at it and under what lighting conditions, you will see differences; it's important to look at the samples close to the reality of the building, and to look at the glass in reflection from the outside but also from the inside or in transmission. The Aesthetic Theater is there to help you get the best possible view of the samples.
