Description

Located in Wiesbaden, Platinum sets a new benchmark for sustainable public-sector office buildings. Designed by Neumann Architekten GmbH, it is the city’s first timber-hybrid structure, combining CO₂-saving construction methods with recyclable materials such as wood, aluminum, and glass. Beyond its sustainable construction, the building integrates a pioneering energy concept: it produces more renewable energy annually than it consumes, thanks to an innovative ice storage system for heating and cooling, as well as 1,300 m² of solar modules on its façade and roof.

The façade features COOL-LITE® SKN 183 glass, which ensures exceptionally high light transmission alongside excellent solar control. This reduces the need for air conditioning while maximizing natural daylight. To further enhance performance, PLANITHERM® XN provides outstanding thermal insulation, while STADIP SILENCE® laminated glass delivers superior acoustic comfort, essential for a modern office environment.

To optimize thermal insulation and aesthetics, the project also integrates SWISSPACER® Advance in its triple-glazing units. This warm-edge spacer delivers high edge insulation and eliminates thermal bridges, contributing to both energy efficiency and visual refinement. Together, these advanced glazing solutions create a healthy, comfortable, and efficient workplace.

As a flagship project, Platinum exemplifies innovation at every level. Its modular construction emphasizes recyclability, ensuring materials such as glass and aluminum can be reused at the end of the building’s lifecycle.
