Description
Located in Copenhagen’s thriving Nordhavn district, the Redmolen office building embodies the architectural innovation that earned the city its title of World Capital of Architecture 2023. This 60-meter-high circular glass and steel tower rises prominently at the harbor’s entrance, featuring a prefabricated façade of 12,000 m² that blends modernity with functionality.
To optimize the façade design, extensive daylighting analyses and hourly simulations were conducted. These guided the positioning of façade elements, with narrower panels on the sunnier south side to minimize glare, and wider panels on the east, west, and north façades to maximize daylight penetration.
The final design achieves an exceptional balance of energy efficiency and comfort. A smart triple-glazing combination of COOL-LITE® SKN 176, ECLAZ® LUMI, and Kvadrat Shade metallized textile interior blinds ensures precise control of heat, cold, daylight, and glare. This integrated solution guarantees optimal indoor conditions while reinforcing the building’s sleek, contemporary aesthetic.
