PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

COOL-LITE® SKN 176 and SKN 176 II sets standards in terms of aesthetics and solar control function. Both coatings, respectively the annealed and to-be-tempered version have a neutral lively reflection aesthetic, a high level of light transmission combined with a low level of solar gain thus offering excellent protection against thermal losses.

It is proven that we spend most of our time indoors, but that does not mean that we want to cut ourselves off from the view and natural light, especially if it is for a wrong reason such as avoiding discomfort due to too high temperature. COOL-LITE^® SKN 176 (II) helps to strike the right balance for an optimal comfort and some energy savings on cooling or lighting.

•   Solar gain control, with 63 % of solar energy radiation do not enter the building and are rejected, thus helping to reduces cooling loads and cost to run the air conditioning.

COOL-LITE^® SKN 176 (II) is ideal for all types of facades in commercial and residential buildings, where high daylight income is requested, with no compromise on performances.

COOL-LITE^® SKN 176 (II) is also available on ORAÉ^® low-carbon glass, to combine performance and sustainability and provide the best of both embodied and operational carbon levels.

This product is covered by a verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and is Cradle to Cradle Certified^® V4.0 Bronze.

PROCESSING

ANNEALED: The product is available in Annealed version.
HEAT-TREATMENT: The product is available in To-be-tempered version (with suffix II); It is delivered in standard with EASYPRO^® temporary surface protection. To achieve its performance and aesthetics, the product must be tempered. It is compatible with Heat Soak Test.
EDGE DELETION: Edge deletion of the coating is compulsory prior to assembling.
INSULATED GLAZING UNIT: The product must be assembled into an insulated glazing unit (IGU); The coating must be positioned on the face 2 (inside the IGU).
LAMINATION: The product can be laminated, taking care to place the coating outside of the laminate (coating on face 4 of the laminated pane). Consult us for the list of coating validated in contact with the interlayer.
BENDING: The to-be-tempered version of the product (II) can be bent. Bending results depend on the process/technology used; trials should be done for validation.
ENAMELING: No common approval for the enameling of silver-based high-performance coatings.
Annealed and the to-be-tempered versions of the product offer similar performances and aesthetic with a good compatibility in outdoor reflection. Contact us for more details.
