The Piraeus Tower, rising 88 meters with 22 floors, has been reborn as Greece’s first sustainable high-rise, breathing new life into the heart of one of Europe’s largest passenger ports. This mixed-use landmark combines offices, retail areas, a gym, and F&B spaces, while offering stunning 360° views of Piraeus and the Athenian Riviera.
The project has earned LEED Platinum certification and WELL Core™ enrollment, underlining its strong commitment to sustainability and user well-being.
The tower’s striking new façade integrates Saint-Gobain Glass solutions, notably COOL-LITE® XTREME 70/33 II on DIAMANT® low-iron glass. This highly selective glazing ensures exceptional solar control and light transmission, bringing abundant daylight into the interiors while minimizing heat gain and reducing energy needs for cooling and artificial lighting.
In a remarkable circular economy effort, 125 tons of end-of-life glass from the original façade were recycled at Saint-Gobain’s Calarasi plant, closing the loop on material use and reducing the project’s environmental footprint.
Today, The Piraeus Tower stands as a symbol of modernity and renewal, providing workspaces for more than 2,000 people. As the gateway to the Athenian Riviera, it redefines sustainable high-rise architecture in Greece and sets a new benchmark for future urban development.
