Description
Pelgulinna State Secondary School in Tallinn, Estonia, is a landmark of sustainable school architecture, designed to place student well-being at the center. Surrounded by nature and featuring large glazed façades, the building offers a welcoming, light-filled atmosphere while minimizing its environmental footprint. As one of Estonia’s largest wooden structures, it embodies the synergy between functionality and sustainable innovation.
At the heart of the project is COOL-LITE® XTREME 61/29 II, a high-performance solar control glazing from Saint-Gobain. This solution ensures abundant natural light while preventing overheating, delivering excellent thermal comfort throughout the school’s wide glass façades.
The glass also combines energy efficiency with neutral aesthetics, characterized by low reflectivity and clear views that enhance the learning environment. By reducing reliance on air conditioning in summer and limiting heat loss in winter, it significantly contributes to both comfort and sustainability.
With COOL-LITE® XTREME 61/29 II, Pelgulinna State Secondary School achieves the perfect balance between energy savings, user well-being, and sustainable design, setting a new benchmark for energy-efficient educational buildings in Estonia.
