ORAÉ® now produced in the UK: A milestone in sustainable glass manufacturing
Congrats to the Saint-Gobain Glass UK team, which is now manufacturing ORAÉ®, the world's first lower-carbon glass, at the Eggborough facility in Yorkshire 🇬🇧!
ORAÉ® is driving the transition towards more sustainable buildings. According to its verified EPD, ORAÉ® substrate has a carbon footprint of only 6.64 kg CO₂ eq./m² (for a 4mm substrate, A-C), bringing a reduction of 42% compared to our European standard clear glass without any compromise on technical or aesthetic performance.
At Saint-Gobain Glass, circularity is at the heart of our operations. ORAÉ® embodies this commitment, incorporating 64% recycled content sourced through our extensive glass recycling network, notably "Glass Forever" recycling program in the UK.
Available in multiple thicknesses and coatings (including low-emissivity and solar control options), ORAÉ® is the perfect choice for our customers' sustainable projects.
As a testament to its sustainability ORAÉ® is Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze across all five categories of the latest v4 standard. It meets rigorous criteria and has achieved a Platinum rating for Product circularity thanks to its high recycled glass content.
