Description
In the heart of San Francisco’s dynamic SoMa district, Moscone Center stands as one of the city’s key landmarks for conventions and public events. Its recent expansion, designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in collaboration with Mark Cavagnero Associates, redefines the complex with brighter, more transparent façades that open the building to its urban surroundings.
The project features COOL-LITE® SKN 176 (II) combined with DIAMANT®, all from Saint-Gobain Glass.
COOL-LITE® SKN 176 (II) delivers very high light transmission (around 70%) with effective solar control (solar factor 0.37) and a neutral, low-reflective appearance, while DIAMANT — an extra-clear low-iron glass — enhances visual clarity and transparency.
Together, these glazing solutions create luminous interiors, manage solar gain efficiently, and contribute to the project’s refined, contemporary expression.

COOL-LITE® SKN 176 & 176 II
COOL-LITE® SKN 176 and SKN 176 II sets standards in terms of aesthetics and solar control function. Both coatings, respectively the annealed and to-be-tempered version have a neutral lively reflection aesthetic.
DIAMANT®
DIAMANT is a matchless extra clear glass that is appreciated for its appealing appearance and optical characteristics.
The low iron content generates a higher transmission of light and the green tint characteristic of ordinary glass is significantly reduced.
