Description

The glass and glazing sector has seen a trend towards clearer float glass substrates in recent years. This demand is driven by the need for a more neutral appearance on the architectural project as well as the need for improved passive energy gain on the residential market.

PLANICLEAR ®'s lower iron content decreases the absorption level - thus increasing the solar gain (g value). An increased passive gain in solar heat can increase a window's total energy balance.

PLANICLEAR® also serves a higher level of Light transmission (LT). This contributes to increase in the level of natural daylight and reduces the need for artificial lighting – creating a more comfortable environment.

PLANICLEAR ®'s lower iron content decreases green coloring levels so the appearance is clearer and more neutral. This contrast is particularly recognizable when viewing the edge of the glass.

Applications

PLANICLEAR ® can be used in applications which require a high degree of clarity and neutrality including:

  • Windows and doors
  • Mirrors
  • Laminated safety glass
  • Interior applications
  • Glass facades
  • Partitions
